Today, Monday, the Ministry of the Interior announced that, given the issuance of the ministerial decision to divide, compose, and determine the locations of voter registration committees in the electoral lists, these committees will begin their work during the month of February 2023.

The ministry said in a press statement that this comes in view of the fact that Article 6 of Law No. 35 of 1962 and the laws amending it regarding the elections of members of the National Assembly requires that each electoral district should have one or more permanent election schedules drawn up by a committee or committees consisting of a president and two members. The eighth of the same law requires that the election schedules be edited or amended during the month of February of each year.
