The data issued by the Central Administration of Statistics for the Household Income and Expenditure Survey, shows the average Kuwaiti family spends on welfare and entertainment about 1,625 dinars per month, which constitutes about 49% of household spending per month, without counting the monthly rent of Kuwaiti families who own their homes out of a total expenditure of 3296.6 dinars, compared to about 357 dinars spent by each expatriate family, which constitutes 33.4% of their monthly expenditure, which amounts to 1071.3 dinars on the same expenditures that include personal care, restaurants, entertainment, sports, transportation, clothing, fabrics, shoes, tobacco and its products.
According to other calculations, the average spending of citizens and residents on welfare and entertainment differs if it is measured to the total average income of 3995 dinars per month for a Kuwaiti family and 1131.5 dinars per month for an expatriate family, which means that Kuwaitis spend about 41% of their income on luxury and entertainment, while expatriates spend about 32% of their income on the same issue, reports Al-Anba daily.
